I haven’t read the first book of the Forbidden series, but I have heard amazing things. I love readings books in a series all at once.

What books did you get this week? Have you read any of the ones I got?

Friday Night

So, I’m late with posting this week’s STS. I have a good excuse, or a sad one really. My older friend and I were out to dinner and a movie last night. The food was just arriving when she got a call from her older daughter. The other grandma was watching her 4 month old baby, and tripped and dropped her on the hardwood floor. Yes, I know, I heard the gasps from all of you. My friend asked me to go with her to the children’s hospital since she was obviously upset. Fucking traffic made it take almost 2 hours. Those were a bad 2 hours. All we knew was that the baby was bleeding from her ears. Once we got to the hospital there was a lot of waiting and worrying with little bouts of info every hour. After two CT scans and lots of poking and prodding, the baby is going to be okay. She has a fractured skull but no swelling. A blood vessel was popped in her ear and was still bleeding but it wasn’t coming from her brain. The baby was responsive and was able to be held when I left. I took my friend’s car back home at 2am while she went to get supplies for her daughter to stay overnight in the hospital.

The whole experience was traumatic for everyone. I still can’t believe it happened. I feel so bad for my friend and her daughter but I am happy the baby is going to be fine. So, yeah, that’s my story from last night.

What a scary thing for a baby. Your friend must have been so scared inside. I’m glad that the baby was okay. Looks like you got some interesting books.

I am just relieved. The baby had a relapse but she is doing better now.

That must have been frightening for everyone. It is good to hear the baby is going to make a full recovery.
I haven’t heard of the forbidden series, but it looks interesting.

Omg, your poor friend must be going through hell, I sure am glad that the baby wasn’t bleeding from the brain, thats horrific. I send my best wishes to you and your friend’s baby, I certainly wish the baby well.

Thank you so much. Not a few days later her other daughter was hit by an 18 wheeler while driving. Her car is totaled but she is okay. Talk about bad luck.

Oh no! So sorry that happened. Prayers for the baby. That is so scary. I’d probably have had a heart attack. One reason why I don’t want kids is because I’m paranoid. I swear I want to bubble wrap my nieces and nephews when I have them over. I hope you enjoy these!

It shows how easily things can turn scary in the safety of your own home. It is lucky that the baby came through it ok. What a shock your poor friend must have had. Try to make sure she doesn’t blame herself for going out, which is a common reaction and try to get her out the house as soon as possible when the baby is fully recovered or she could end up too scared to leave the baby again. So glad things turned out ok.

I know, she was messed up for a little bit, but I got her out this Friday.

Oh JHC, my stomach hurt reading that. I’m so glad the baby is okay, but I bet the grandma feels AWFUL. Hope they all get through it okay.

Yeah, the problem is she dropped the baby to save herself from falling, so the family is pretty mad at her right now.

OMG, yes it’s quite terrible and traumatic I’m so shocked for your friend, she had to be so scared. I’m glad it should be ok…. happy reading my friend

The baby relapsed but is okay now. So stressful. Then my friend’s other daughter was hit by 18 wheeler truck while driving just a few days ago. She is fine, but, seriously, this family is having some major bad luck.

My Goodness, I would have been a crazy nightmare of a wreck in that 2 hours of traffic. It’s good you were there with her because I’m sure that helped. So glad to hear the child is okay. I couldn’t even imagine the stress that the mom was under waiting to hear that.
