I haven’t read an apocalyptic book in some time so I am excited to try out Salt. I feel like I don’t read enough urban fantasy anymore, and it’s my favorite genre, so I grabbed Beyond the Veil which sounds pretty epic.

The Moonshadow’s Daughter is about werewolves, and I don’t think I have read a werewolf book in over 6 months. I need my wolfy fix. Threefold I actually just finished. I thought, if I am sick and can barely concentrate what better book to read than book porn?

What books did you get this week? Have you read any of the ones I got?

My Week

So, as many of you already know, I just got the job I really, really wanted. And I am still horribly, horribly sick. Luckily, I was informed I start Tuesday so I have Sunday and Monday to get better. Anyway, some of you were asking what the job is. Well I will be an Account Manager for a local business that helps companies and organizations become OSHA and environmentally compliant (though they offer many services), that’s it in a nutshell. Why I am so excited about this job is because I get to wear many hats as anย Account Manager.ย Not only will Iย get to use my BS in Business, but there are opportunities to use my graphic design skills as well. Advancements areย a constant possibility. It’s still a relatively small company and they have been booming the past couple years. I will know the owners and all the employees personally, which I think is a great opportunity for when the company keeps growing. Also, they seem like a really close-knit group and the people I have met so far are super nice and personable. I feel comfortable there, and I think that’s important in a job and possible career.

I like the sound of Beyond the Veil and I managed to grab a free copy from Amazon for my Kindle which was nice! I haven’t read much urban fantasy recently so it’s time I grabbed a few more to try! Congrats again on landing the job and I hope you feel better soon!

Two thumbs up for your new job, yay !!! I should have read Beyond the veil by now if I didn’t accept so many review requests… I read another by Sotia Lazu 2 years ago and really loved it. Take care, I hope you won’t be sick any more by tuesday ๐Ÿ˜‰

I just love that name Sotia Lazu. I like her book. I don’t really accept many review requests anymore.

Still sick and now going to a new job sick. It sucks.

I’m still so excited for you, congrats again! It sounds like it will be a great job to have. It is nice to be able to do different things and it won’t always be the same ole same ole.

Congrats on the books too, they all look really good!

I’m so glad everything worked out for you. ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope you are back up to 100% by Tuesday. Get some rest these next few days.

I think I am going to be sick until the weekend. Ugh. Sucks to work while sick.

Congratulations on getting the job. It sounds like a good job for you and I hope your feeling better by Tuesday. Your books sound interesting, I hope you like them.

I recently bought M. J. Haag’s Depravity, but haven’t received it yet. I also bought and have started Chole Neil’s Hard Bitten. I am still finishing up The Bee’s (44 chapters) and am working my way through A study in Scarlet by Sir Author Colin Doyle, which I got at a book sale months ago. I need to catch up on my reading list. Have a great weekend!

I’m sorry you’re so stinkin’ sick still but HOORAY for your job!!!!! I think you’re going to soar in that position b/c you’re right – there’s so much you can do in that type of position, especially in a smaller company. You go girl!!!!

I have moved so far away from UF as of late that I’m actually changing my name next month!! And yes, mindless book porn is the only way to go when you’re sick. That or a stupid YA romance that won’t tax the mind.

Feel better and HAVE FUN on Tuesday!!

Loving the covers! Hope you enjoy your new books. ๐Ÿ™‚ And congrats on the job, again. ๐Ÿ™‚

Salt and Beyond the Veil both sound great. Oh, I’m so glad you told us what the job is! It’s sounds very interesting. We do online safety training so I’m familiar with OSHA regulations. It sounds like a job that you’ll get to do a number of different things…variety is necessary to me in a job. I hope you really like it and fit in well with the employees!

    • Jennifer Bielman

I agree, variety is important. Liking the job so far. Still going through training.
