Australian Cover US Cover
I haven’t read the first book but I love everything CJ Duggan, so I couldn’t pass up Paradise Road. While I was researching this book, I found the differences in the Australian and US cover to be so extreme I had to share them. Which cover do you like best? I am into the man meat one, what can I say.
What books did you get this week? Have you read any of the ones I got?
My Week
It has been a laid-back week and I am cool with that. And hot. What the hell does 86 degrees Fahrenheit think it’s doing here in November? No, that’s just wrong! Even for Southern California. I forgot what heat felt like the past couple weeks. The weather has been crazy before all the stupid winter heat: rain, cold, stormy, so much wind. It has been amazing on the clouds though. Here are some of my phone pics.
The sun was in the right place at the right time.
It’s so fluffy!
The whole sky was dark gray. It was creepy.

I read the first Paradise (or actually I tried) book by Duggan, and I couldn’t finish it 🙁 I might still give Paradise Road a try, though, because I really enjoy her writing.
Those covers definitely are different! The only thing that’s similar is the title and the author name 🙂
I hope you’ll enjoy Paradise Road, Jennifer! Have a great weekend and happy reading.

Oh no, that makes me nervous. let’s hope this book is better.

Man meat! I love to compare different covers, especially if they don’t look like they could represent the same story. One looks erotic and the other contemporary. Such differences! And I’ll take your Southern CA weather over my rainy-cold-dry-cool AL weather any day. Happy Saturday!
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
LOL, I now regret complaining about the weather. It’s so cold and wet here now!
Jessica @ a GREAT read
Those are new to me reads! Hope you enjoy them!
And oh, I know all about crazy weather! St, Louis is known for it! We’ve had some hot Octobers in the past, and then there’s cold rainy weather like today…snow…it’s just a mess.
Happy Reading!
My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then!
Have a GREAT day!

Ugh, snow is like my worse nightmare!!!! lol. So pretty but so annoying.

Great pictures! I would take your 80 over our 30-40 any day. 😛 I hate the cold. 🙁
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
Even though I complain, I hate the cold too so warm weather is always nice.

Whenever it gets warm, I enjoy it. Right now, in Utah it’s not terrible. I don’t mind it if it rains or is just cloudy, because then it warms up a bit. But today its clear and suppose to be 50 degrees farenheit with the sun out. Love the pics. Jealous over your super warm weather though. I agree with you about Paradise Road though. The left is much more delicious. I probably would pick up the book if I saw the Australian cover over the US cover.
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
Yeah, it was that cover that made me grab it in the first place. I too like warm weather, I just think I am a little over it, even though I like warm weather more than cold.

L.A. is always crazy. Last time I went there the weather was weird. I hope you love your new book.

Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
Yeah, we do have some weird weather. Better than having snow though!
anna (herding cats & burning soup)
OH dang. I like the Australian cover way more. That’s one sexy bit of man!
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
Right?!!!! So sexy.

I agree the covers do look pretty different, as if they are for two different books; the one on the left erotica and the one on the right romance. It is crazy you have 80F were you are Jennifer. Here in British Columbia it is struggling to reach 40F. It was stormy last week and we actually lost power for several hours (I saw the blue flashes as tree branches touched the power lines).
I picked up Sisters of Blood and Spirit by Kady Cross from the library.
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
OMG, that’s crazy. We are getting more rain and wind now. I kind of like when the power goes out, just for a little bit, it’s exciting.

First of all, do not curse the heat, dang it! It needs to stay. Ugh, okay, rain and snow because of the drought, but the heat is my bff. I just miss it when it’s gone. Also, you kinda have to read the first book since it ended on a big cliffhanger. I’m kind of torn on whether I want to read this. The first book was the first Duggan book I was ugh-ish about.
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
LOL, I actually like the heat better too but I was over it that day so I decided to whine. Ugh-oh, yeah, I guess I gotta get the first book. I have not been hearing great things either. So scared.

Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)

Like both of the covers and looks like it will be a good one. Happy reading and have a great upcoming week.
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
I’m hoping it will be a good one.

Girl, I feel ya. We just started to cool down here and then BAM back up to the 80’s. Just when I was starting to pull out my fall recipes too. Hopefully it cools back down for Thanksgiving. It’s going to suck having the oven on during this heat. >.<
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
Well, Thanksgiving was definitely cool. 😀

Love the sky pics! You scored two ARC’s this week! You are a better woman than me! I can’t help but pick up a million books! Have a great week! <3
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
LOL I usually can’t restrain myself to two book, so I am surprised.
Jaclyn Canada
Love the pics! I enjoy watching the sky and seeing how colors and clouds can seem painted across it at times. We get grey skies a lot here in tornado alley. I don’t really have an opinion on the cover since it’s not my genre, but I’d much rather look at the guy on my shelf.
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
I am seriously obsessed with taking pictures of clouds.
