Alone in Montreal, Smith must face his past, and the women who shaped his ideas about romance. This is the thrilling conclusion of the 4-part Billionaire Novelist series.

I've been a bad bird. This book may be unsuitable for people under 17 years old due to its use of sexual content, substance use, and/or violence. Come be a bad bird with me!

At A Glance

Good ending, not great though.

The Good

Finally we get Smith’s back story. I feel like I know him so much better now. Some of what he has done in the past makes sense now. You can’t help but feel bad for him in the end.  He is a damaged soul, that is for sure, but he has found a women he can love, and he takes the chance with Tori in the end.

After running away from Smith and his emotional (and a little scary) revelations, Tori goes home to mourn. What she finds is her mom and her friends supporting her in their own ways, and encouraging her to take a chance on love, even if it’s fucked up sometimes. These ladies were hilarious! I was cracking up the whole time as these old ladies talked about sex, love, and, well, sex.

Everything was wrapped up pretty well. A good ending, though not amazing.

The Bad

I still wish I fell in love with Smith more. I am happy we got his story, but he’s done too much crap to get over. I really wanted Smith to blow me away with getting Tori back, but really all it took was a hint of interest and she came running back.

The Snuggly

The sex is still fun, feisty, and raunchy. My fav part.

Final Thoughts

I am happy I read this series. It wasn’t the best from Mimi, but it was interesting, that’s for sure. Recommended.

Quotes

“What’s the hurry? Life is all the things that happen along the way.”

“If we’d crashed, my final mortal thought would have been , what is the plural of moose?”

“She was cranky from traveling, which forced me to be in a good mood, because you can’t have tow redheads cranky at the same time.”

Before I ever take a look at that series, I’ll be reading some Mimi Strong standalones that I got in… guess what ? A boxed set ! 😉

Why does the guy on the cover seem so familiar? He reminds me of a well-known actor. Glad you enjoyed it overall. When you mentioned the old ladies, it brings Betty White to mind, and she’s always amazingly hilarious to me.

Totally betty white-esque! The guy on the cover reminds me of Sherlock from Elementary.
