Smith Wittingham, the bad-boy billionaire novelist, whisks his typist away from the cabin in Vermont. Tori's never been to Montreal before, and it's a wonderful city to go shopping and get in trouble.

After a visit to a sex shop, Tori's ready to explore new things. Smith asks if she would have sex with another man while he watches. She thinks he's just trying to provoke a reaction, because he loves making her angry, so she counters by saying yes.

"You might learn a thing or two by watching," she says. "Like how to treat a lady."

Length: Novella of 25,000 words or 100 pages

Spice Level: Erotic, some roleplaying. WARNING: Contains GROUP SEX and scenes that some readers may find offensive.

At A Glance

Worst book in the series so far, but still interesting.

The Good

This has been an odd novella series for me. I love Mimi Strong because of her weird characters and funny dialogue, but Typist #3 just got weirder. I don’t know where this series is going. Is there going to be a HEA? I hope so after all that these characters have went through. It’s been a fun journey so far, even through Smith’s doucheness and Tori’s odd reactions to Smith’s doucheness.

In the end, we are seeing more of Smith, the good and bad. Tori needs to get her big girl panties back on but I trust she will make the right decisions in the next book. She is trying really hard to make her and Smith work when he is making it impossible. I respect that even if it must be a hit on the ego.

I am excited to see what the last book has in story for this insane but adorable duo.

The Bad

This was the worst book in the romance department so far. Lots of mixed signals, no communication, and fighting. Smith was just an asshole the whole time. Then Tori lost some of her strong, independent style and became really whiney.

The Snuggly

This had the craziest sex by far. Spoiler: We are talking about a weird but hot threesome with Tori, her ex-boyfriend, and his girlfriend while Smith watched. A long sex toy shop scene where Tori gets spanked by a sex instructor. Yeah, things get crazy.

Final Thoughts

Not the best book, but it’s keeping my interest, that’s for sure. Recommended as a series.

Quotes

“And then, something happened. I followed her. We all did, including Granny Ball Torture.”

“He was like the Incredible Hulk of assholes.”

“That hairy ass? When I can have your sweet Strawberry pie? No thanks.”

Mmm, as much as I love Mimi Strong’s humor and am ready to read more books by her, I don’t think this one will do it for me : douchebags and strange reactions are things that may make me want to break my e-reader, and I love it too much for that 🙂 I love the “incredible Hulk of assholes” quote !

I have the first book and haven’t even read it. I think I got it during one of those freebies promos because I don’t remember buying it. Great review!

Ah douche and whiney do not go well together. I hope she woman’s back up in the next one. It’s great that it held your interest even though it’s been the worst one so far. Great review!

I’ve read a book by Mimi Strong and found here voice to be different. But I’ve not tried anymore and this book does sound weird. Haha, I liked your review on it. it was funny XD

I think in my case, the bad would outweigh the good and I would be frustrated with this read. I don’t think this would be the one for me but I am glad that there was some good to it and it wasn’t all bad. 😉

    Wonderful honest review!

Whoa, this sounds like this novel does get a bit crazy! It must be a pretty good series if the worse one is still standing at the three star mark, which is good.

It was very amusing. It’s just an odd, little, short read that will have you giggling.

I don’t think I’ve read anything by Mimi Strong and I can’t see myself picking up this novel because that cover is horrendous.

Oh it’s too bad for the romance there… I didn’t know about this one but I really don’t like her dress. Not sure it’s for me I confess.
