Review Policy:
For the list of genres I read and review please visit my About Me page.
I accept ARCs, print copies, and ebooks. I prefer books as gifts from Amazon for my Kindle or a print copy to be sent to me directly. I also accept .mobi files.
I also post my reviews on Goodreads and Amazon.
Please email me first with information about yourself and the book you would like me to review. In the subject line state that this is a review request and put the title of your book. Let me know if your book is self-published (if you own or co-own the publishing company that published your book, I consider you self-published). I like to read a sample (like a first chapter) of your work before I decide to review your book (exception: blog tours). I only reply to review requests that are personalized with my name, e.g. Hi Jennifer, or something to that effect.
To make it simple, here is a checklist of what should be provided in a review request email:
– In subject line of the email state that this is a review request and the title of your book
– Book title and summary
– Info about the author (like name, past works, whatever is pertinent)
– Self-published or not?
– A sample of the book (the first chapter, if at all possible)
– Helpful links for me to check out (for book or author). I love Goodreads and Amazon links the most.
As of now, I am only accepting <1% of the review requests from self-published authors due to time constraints. The wait time for a review to be posted is around three-four months. We can discuss me posting my review earlier if need be. I only have time to reply to requests I am accepting.
Please know I will give an honest review of every book I read.
Though I love talking to people through my Facebook page, Twitter account, and Goodreads profile, all review requests must be through email.
Detailed Rating System:
I would recommend reading all books three stars and up. Most of
the time, the bad parts I mention about three star and up books are pretty minor
in comparision to how much I enjoyed reading them. My star rating indicates how
much I enjoyed reading a book overall. All series reviews are based on the
assumption that you have read the previous books, which is what I always
recommend.
★★★★★ (5 Stars) Mind Explosion!
I was blown away by how much I loved this book. I want to marry this book and have book babies with it. This is the kind of book I would read over and over again. If there were any bad parts, they in no way took away from the awesomeness of this book. Very highly recommended.
★★★★☆ (4 Stars) Loved It!
I loved reading this book. I would probably read it again once or twice. There might have been a couple of things that I didn’t like but they did not take too much away from how great this book was overall. Highly recommended.
★★★☆☆ (3 Stars) Liked It!
I liked this book. I am happy I read it, but I wouldn’t reread it. There were a few things that bothered me that took away some of the enjoyment, but overall it was a good read. Recommended to some (like for people who read the genre).
★★☆☆☆ (2 Stars) Not For Me!
This book was mediocre. It was okay in some parts, but the rest wasn’t up to par. I would only recommend this book to those who are obsessed with the author or the series it came from, otherwise, don’t waste your time.
★☆☆☆☆ (1 Star) Painful To Read!
I would not recommend this book to anyone. There was no redeemable qualities, and I wish I didn’t read it to begin with. I might not have even finished this book. I hereby divorce this book.
