When small town girl Melinda Prescott is taken hostage by three hot bank robbers, she quickly discovers that a life of bank heists, luxury hotels, and kinky menages is way more exciting than working on the family farm. She should be scared of her dominating, fierce captors…but there’s something wicked inside her that’s craving to obey their every dark desire.

Melinda eagerly throws in with her three smoldering fugitives…and soon realizes that these are no ordinary bank robbers—and that bad guys aren’t always who they seem. But will her delicious captors overcome their own demons enough to let her in? And can these underdogs fight an evil conspiracy that’s larger than all of them?

Warning: This book contains a sexy bank-robbers-and-their-captive sandwich, light bondage, spanking, teasing hints of domination, and a little play-time in a hot tub. Oh, and some all-too-delicious alpha heroes who bend the heroine to their will.

At A Glance

This was a good, clean, fun romance. No, wait! It was a naughty, dirty, sexy erotica. Yeah, that makes more sense. šŸ™‚

The Good

I really, really had fun. It’s been forever since I read an erotica. The Hostage Bargain was actually free, but I loved the book so much I bought the rest of the series. What a total fantasy come true. Being taken hostage by good hunky criminals and willing to submit to their every sexual whim. Hells yeah!

At no point did I feel like Melinda was being forced in any way, everything was very consensual. Melinda was so sexually depraved, it was awesome. She enjoyed the light humiliation and alpha maleĀ dominance. Plus, she was a thrill seeker, so the bank robbing part really turned her on. That’s what made this book so enjoyable, that MelindaĀ was so receptive and the bank robbers were really good guys deep down.

The action and suspense was fun. I liked the backstory as well as the dark turn the book took near the end. Some good dialogue too.

The Bad

You are not going to read this book for the realistic plot and great decision making. It didn’t bother me, but I would have enjoyed the book more if I could haveĀ really gottenĀ into theĀ meat of the story and not just the sex.

The Snuggly

I loved the naughty, hot sex. The dominance these bank robbers held over Melinda was delicious, especially because she enjoyed it so much. Be prepared for bondage, spanking, and voyeurism.

Final Thoughts

This isn’t the most kinky or best plotted book ever, but it was fun, hot, and exciting. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Excerpt

ā€œFine then. The game is that we’re dissolute, depraved, sex-crazed bandits and the rules are, firstly, that you have sex with all of us at different times and in different combinations.ā€ Odin paused.

My pulse fluttered. ā€œThat’s firstly?ā€

ā€œYes, Isis,ā€ Odin said.

I imagined being pressed between them. I imagined their hands and mouths on my. Oh, he was a little evil to pause like that. This too, I richly enjoyed. ā€œAnd what might be secondly?ā€ I asked.

ā€œThat we tie you up, etcetera,ā€ he said casually, almost bored, like it was a totally normal thing. ā€œAnd we give you various commands that you must obey, within reason of course, and utterly pleasure-focused.ā€

I have not read Annika Martin until recently, when I read the Prisoner. It was written with Skye Warren, who I’ve read a lot. I didn’t know this was free, so I’ll be getting it to read soon. Sometimes having a non-realistic book that is fun is good for the soul. Thanks for the find.

I agree, it was good even if it wasn’t realistic. Sometimes we need those kinds of books. And can’t beat free1

lol @ the series title. This kind of book definitely isn’t for me, but I’m glad that you enjoyed it. Yeah, like some action movies you have to excuse the plausibility.
