Charley Davidson isn't your everyday, run-of-the-mill grim reaper. She's more of a paranormal private eye/grim reaper extraordinaire. However, she gets sidetracked when the sexy, sultry son of Satan, Reyes Farrow, moves in next door. To further complicate matters, Reyes is her main suspect in an arson case. Charley has vowed to stay away from him until she can find out the truth...but then dead women start appearing in her apartment, one after another, each lost, confused, and terrified beyond reason. When it becomes apparent that her own sister, Gemma is the serial killer's next target, Charley has no choice but to ask for Reyes's help. Arsonist or not, he's the one man alive who could protect Gemma no matter who or what came at her. But he wants something in return. Charley. All of her, body and soul. And to keep her sister safe, it is a price she is willing to pay.

Charley Davidson is at it again in the sexy, suspenseful, and laugh-out-loud funny fifth installment of the New York Times best selling series.

At A Glance

The rumors are true. This is the best book of the series so far.

The Good

Wow. Just wow. Fifth Grave Past the Light had everything. I am so in love right now. Every character had a moment to shine in this book. Finally we get the answers we needed about Garrett. Ubie and Charley only get closer. Cookie is too damn hilarious, right along with Charley. But it’s Reyes that stole the whole damn show. I’ve always liked his broody, stand-off-ish attitude from the beginning. It just works for me. What can I say, I like the bad boys. But I saw a whole new side of him and I LIKEY!

His playful side is even better than his brooding side. It feels like a weight off my shoulders knowing that Reyes gets Charley’s humor. To be compatible with Charley, you have to be willing to joke 24/7. Tis what it tis. Knowing that Reyes can play right along and roll with the punches, even giving us his own silliness, was so heartwarming. I want a relationship like that.

So much more is revealed, especially about Lucifer and his plans. Charley is put into some tough spots but she’s our girl. She does what she has to do to solve cases.

As always, we get a fast-paced plot with great action and great character growth. And now we have playful Reyes sexing Charley up in the most hilarious/romantic of ways. OMG, I just want to eat this book so it’s with me forever!!!

The Bad

Notin’

The Snuggly

Best sex scene ever! I love sex Charley-style with jokes and silliness all around. Luckily the steam is there in full force as well.

Final Thoughts

Go buy the whole series now and don’t stop reading until you’ve read this book. Not a suggestion, this is an ORDER!

Quotes

“My goal in life is to have a psychiatric disorder named after me.”

“How would you like your eggs?”
I tried. I really did. But I glanced at his crotch and it came out anyway. “Fertilized?”

“Have they even seen the Winchester boys? Sammy and Dean’s existence proves there is a god and she is a woman.”

“What do you want?”
“You,” he said, his voice lowering an octave. “I want you, Dutch, body and soul. I want you in my bed every night. I want you there when I wake up in the morning. I want your clothes strung across my apartment and your scent on my skin.”

“My phone pinged. It was a text from Cookie.
I’m not good at cocking guns.
Really? Did she not know me at all?
I texted her back.
You can do this. Learn the cock, Cookie.
Know the cock.
Be the cock.”

Really? You didn’t fall for his good looks and brooding attitude alone? Shame!
