I did it. I married a billionaire.

My reasons are my own, but the last thing I expected was to feel owned.

I may have taken vows, but I’m still determined to be me.

Now his rules are taking over my world, but I’m not the kind of girl to just obey.

There’s only one problem: I might actually be falling for him…

I have no idea how this marriage is going to go, but holding onto a piece of myself while succumbing to his dirty pleasures is shaping up to be the ride of a lifetime.

At A Glance

One character grows, the other dwindles.

The Good

Dirty Pleasures picks up at the cliffhanger from Dirty Billionaire. Creighton is running after Holly, his country singer wife, after she left him for putting his career above hers. Holly is all about her career and reaching her dreams. She will not let Creighton jeopardize everything she has worked hard for. Creighton has finally realized that Holly means everything to him and he is willing to fight for their marriage. Even if it puts his business at risk.

I did like Dirty Billionaire a bit more than Dirty Pleasures but not enough to drop the rating. This is Creighton’s book. He grows so much as a character. He realizes what’s important to him and sacrifices a lot to make it work with Holly. He may still hold the title of alpha but he becomes a lot more likable and reasonable. Though I love Holly’s determination in her career, I thought she treated her marriage pretty blasé.

The overall story was interesting. I loved learning about Holly’s world of stardom and singing. Quite fascinating. We also learn a lot about Creighton’s past and family drama. Oh, that twist!!! The ending is a bit of cliffhanger but I was satisfied.

The Bad

Holly’s tendency to run away is getting old. I get that she takes her career seriously but she doesn’t give enough credit for Creighton’s willingness to compromise. He compromises everything and she just lets him almost ruin his career. She also became a little too whiney and accusatory for my taste.

The Snuggly

Still hot as ever! Though there is a little less sex compared to the first book, the sex is still steamy and naughty as frick!

Final Thoughts

This series is still going strong for me. I like the story and the characters continue to fascintate me, though they can become annoying sometimes. Still recommended.

Quotes

“Do you want to know what I do to naughty girls?”
She nods.
“Anything I want.”

“I don’t want to be treated as an afterthought…”
“You’re not an afterthought. Jesus Christ, Holly. When you look at me like that, you’re my only fucking thought.”

“If you ever refer to me as Mrs. Creighton Karas in that tone again, I’ll be writing a song about a nutless wonder to commemorate ripping your balls off.”

While the characters are not perfect, it is good you were still able to like the book.
