Today I just want to talk to you girls. I want to write about nothing in particular. Let’s see how it goes…
I went to the movies last Friday night with some friends from my old job with the intention of watching The Revenant but the line was too damn long. So we watched Joy and freaking loved it! The reviews were meh but we took a chance and it paid off. It’s a little odd but you easily get into the flow of things. I love movies based on true events/people. When I went to work Monday, my co-worker was raving about The Revenant and of course it won a whole bunch of Golden Globes: Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Director. Well, damn. Now I kinda wish I watched that one. Plus, Tom Hardy is my man! Guess I gotta go this weekend.
I re-watched Waitress last weekend and started craving pie. Picked up Chocolate Cream Pie and Coconut Cream Pie the next day for the family (too lazy to make it). I am so tired of pie now! If you haven’t seen Waitress, watch it. It’s oddly amazing.
I am one of the stupid people putting $20 on Powerball in the off chance I get struck by lightening. 1.5 billion!!!! I know the odds are horrendous and I don’t give a damn. At least I have a teeny, tiny, miniscule chance. I think I want to start buying scratchers. Sounds fun, and you just never know.
I have been grabbing a lot of free graphics and fonts these past few weeks. Ashley from NoseGraze has introduced me to amazing graphic/creative websites. I am obsessed with them. Good prices if you want something more than free. I get emails every week with deals and freebies. I am not affiliated with them, I just wanted to share good deals. Check them out: Creative Market and The Hungry JPEG.

I’ve been really intrigued about Joy. The ads make it look all sorts of adorable, but I haven’t heard too many good things about it though. At the same time, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper are an unstoppable force. I might just have to go check it out.
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
I know, I just don’t understand the bad reviews. Lawrence and Cooper are amazing together.

I love me some Tom Hardy. Those luscious lips 🙂 I’ve not been to the movies since Christmas Eve, when I took my nephew to see Star Wars, but I plan to go soon. I have to use my free tickets before they expire. I swipe my rewards card like my debit card, so every time I go there is always a free something popping up. Getting ready to support some family friends who lost loved ones on Sunday, and I just hate seeing them in pain. Ugh, it sucks. But, my team won the National Championship on Monday, so I get to be excited about that. Nothing much going on around here. Happy Wednesday!
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
How did you like Star Wars? Awww, sorry about the loss. Great news about the Championships!
Kristin
Hey, you can’t win if you don’t enter. Your $20 in is a lot more than my $0. It would be really awesome if someone I knew won. I just don’t buy into that stuff. I like my money too much to part with it for a chance at winning big. Which is why when I go to Vegas I don’t gamble. LoL I’m boring.
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
LOL, I usually don’t do lottery stuff but the propaganda got me! lol

I loved the movie Waitress, it was oddly good.
I’ve heard great things about Joy so I definitely want to see it. I usually wait until they come out on DVD to watch them but I might have to do before that for this one.
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
Right? Very oddly good. I feel like I never watch DVD’s anymore, I use to only watch them
Melissa (Books and Things)
I already know I won’t watch the Revenant. I already can see animals dying in it. Nope. Yes, I’m “that” person. 🙂 I do want to see Joy and now I’ll have to check out Waitress.
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
OMG, don’t say that. I hate animals dying!
Christy
I haven’t been to the movie theater in awhile. I can’t think of any movies lately that I’ve been really excited for. Mmmm pie. Think of all the pies $1.5 billion would buy. lol
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
Except that I don’t even like pie! lol Damn movie hypnotized me. Don’t like cake either. I am more about the brownie or cookie.

LOL I bought 5 tickets. I so wasn’t going to but had bookclub last night and a group of us girls decided what the heck. Totally didn’t win big but won a little to pay off some of my purchase so not too bad. Gah that was an insane amount of money.
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
LOL, so hard to resist. We won $8 back and just bought more tickets with it. Still didn’t win, lol.
Melissa (My World...in words and pages)
Hey, we never play the lottery either. But had to play twice this week. Why wouldn’t you? I knew we wouldn’t win, but still the draw was there. Bummer we lost though.
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
Hey, someone wins, it could be you, just very bad odds. Still, it’s fun to have a chance.

I spent $9 putting into different pools at work…Oh well..it’s nice to dream!
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
It’s nice to dream of the big win. So many fun ideas.

I think Joy looks like a good one, but I also really want to see The Revenant. I’m a Leo fan and Tom Hardy is a prize as well. I hate bad lines though and never watch a movie soon after it releases…especially opening weekend. I avoid it like I do Black Friday LOL
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
I agree I hate opening night, but my friends drag me to them sometimes. Ugh!
