I do what I want banner

Sometimes I just want to talk about random crap. No theme, no rules, just…whatever. That’s where I Do What I Want posts come in. This is where I…well, do whatever the hell I want. Enjoy…and be very afraid.

1. Snapchat Junkie, Kinda

I am pretty uneducated when it comes to Snapchat. I find the app pretty confusing and I don’t feel like trying to figure it out. But I love the filters (is that what they are called?) I can spend hours on the filters, laughing my ass off. I like to record myself or me and someone else doing and saying weird stuff with the filters and play them back over and over again. So entertaining!

2. My Little Serial Killer

My mom use to call me her little serial killer. Though I have gotten better over the years, my emotions use to be locked up tight. I use to think emotions were a weakness so I reacted to certain situations differently than most people. I am more compassionate now but I have a little bit of coldness left because it keeps things fun! lol Plus, I have no limits to my response when it comes to people messing with my people. You mess with my people and I will verbally eff you up. Like it will be hard to get out of bed and live your life normally once I’m done with you. That’s why I stay away from certain people who treat others badly because I know I shouldn’t verbally murder them, but I will.

3. I’m Weird with Food

I don’t know what it is but I am super weird about food. It’s not that I’m picky, I will try anything. It’s more about how I eat food. When I eat a more traditional breakfast (eggs, hash browns, bacon kind of thing) I put ketchup and maple syrup on everything, all mixed together. Oh, that gooey concoction of sweet and salty is so damn good. Or when I always wanted my steak well-done because I would gag if I saw any red. Then I saw a video about a meat processing plant that fascinated me for some reason and the next day and still to this day my steak has to be medium rare. Blood is a must. However, I still want to be a vegetarian because I feel bad for the animals. See, weird! Or how I use to hate eggs, then I was obsessed with over easy eggs for the past 10 years (I put them on everything: burgers, pizza, you name it) and a month ago I 100% stopped liking over easy eggs. Yucky!

4. Holiday Dress Up

I love dressing up for every holiday. Even the “not as important ones.” I think it’s fun to be silly and creative in putting together a little “costume” to celebrate whatever it is the US/world is celebrating. Like, for this Valentine’s Day, I wore this to work and all night when I went out (my clothes and shoes were a mixture of pink and red. My necklace lite up as well):

That’s so strange! I was getting ready to agree with you because I need my steak well done. I didn’t expect you to do a 180! 😀

    • Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)

hehehe, yeah, total 180. Well done is gross to me now.

  2. kindlemom1

That is funny about the meat thing, how you went from one extreme to the other. I use to only eat mine very well done as well but now I like just a touch of pink, if its too red then I can’t touch it, it still grosses me out too much. 😉 Thanks for all the fun facts, it was nice and fun getting to know you better!

    • Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)

I totally understand about the steak. I’ve experienced both worlds.

  3. Melissa (My World...in words and pages)

I don’t have any friends on Snapchat. But I play with the filters from time to time. But I don’t usually post them because I hate my pictures. lol. I’m just a mess. And that’s cute with your mom.

    • Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)

I don’t post them either. I just like the memories.

  4. Melissa

OK, I’ll agree with you about the steak thing being weird…but then eating steak at all is weird to me…lol

    • Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)

hehe, I so wish I could be a vegetarian but I have no will power.

  5. Braine

    Look at you, so cute!!!

You do have weird eating habits but I think we all do. I’m that person in my group who always gets the weird stuff or who likes what the others hate. Lol

      • Braine

We went to this Mexican place and they have beef tongue and that’s what I got. Some went “ewww” at first then they tried a piece and it wasn’t so bad.

I just like to try new stuff at least once. I’m Asian too so food is like a big deal to us you know what I mean? Lol

It is nice to learn more about you. Something weird about my eating habits, I don’t like red meat. Strange, I know. I like chicken or fish, just not mammals. I have never heard of snapchat before, but it sounds fun. You thought emotions were a weakness? That is similar to the ancient Stoic philosophers thinking. They believed emotions corrupted them. It is nice to hear your more compassionate now.
On a personal and sadder note, my grandmother died about a week ago. So i haven’t gotten as much reading done. Haven’t been in the mood.

    • Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)

So sorry about your grandma. my Aunt died so I know how you feel.

  7. Let's Get Beyond Tolerance

Fun post! I love that you dress up for all the holidays, even the less important ones. It’s fun, you know? I wore red pants on Valentine’s Day this year.

I used to put ketchup on all sorts of things – like corn. *shrug*

    • Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)

I wish I could pull off red pants. Ketchup on corn? Hmmm….

  8. Christy LoveOfBooks

Weirdo. But you look so darn cute with your V-day outfit.

I downloaded Snapchat, looked at it for about 15 minutes, then removed it. Didn’t find anything special. lol

I do that with food too. I love something for awhile, then just one day stop. But gag, no, I can’t stand blood or fat on my food. I can only eat skinless, boneless chicken breast. And the red meat has to be like really good cuts and well done or it ruins the whole thing.

    • Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)

I’ve deleted Snapchat 3 times until someone showed me the filters. hehe. I don’t like fat or veins in my steak. Bleh!

  9. Lover Of Romance

I think it is awesome you dress up for holidays. I think I only do it for the major ones, but it sounds like you really have fun with it. I think its awesome you are so protective of those you care about.

    • Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)

My coworkers were surprised I didn’t dress up for cinco de mayo. lol
