I do what I want banner

Sometimes I just want to talk about random crap. No theme, no rules, just…whatever. That’s where I Do What I Want posts come in. This is where I…well, do whatever the hell I want. Enjoy…and be very afraid.

It’s been a busy two weeks for me. I didn’t even get a chance to post my Stacking the Shelves post on Saturday and I haven’t missed that in 191 weeks. I celebrated my *insert age here* birthday last week. I went to the Sawdust, Art, and Crafts Festival in Laguna Beach. So freaking fun! I love art and crafts in general. But really I love looking at pretty things. Take a gander:

This is what I bought there. Well, my mom bought it for me as a birthday present. I love photos of old doors. this one is from Havana, Cuba. Then I had to get this cat bookmark, cuz, you know.

Then we went to this new ice cream place, Creamistry, and my face melted from the pure, unadulterated pleasure. It was the best ice cream I ever had. Like eating velvet. They make the ice cream in front of you with liquid nitrogen. So cool looking.

On my actual birthday day some friends, family, and I went to a new Sushi restaurant. It was sooooo delicious! Best sushi I ever had.

Then this last weekend I finally saw Ghostbusters. I thought it was hilarious. Next time, Suicide Squad. Then my friends and I headed off to a casino and gambled until 4am. I got $10 free credit because of my birthday and I walked away with $145. Felt good. I usually lose. lol

Right now I am working on using Joann coupons and buying fabric to make throw pillows to open an Etsy shop. I’m finally doing it! I am researching the crap out of it right now so I am the most prepared I can be.

So, yeah, that was my last two weeks of fun. How has everyone else been? I swear I will catch up on comments eventually. I am so behind.

I literally think about this ice cream all the time. I want more so bad.

Happy birthday! I love the door picture too We went to a PokemonGo event at the History museum here in Raleigh a few weeks ago and then to Treat for ice cream. It’s homemade on a local farm and I’m sure it’s the bet ice cream I have ever had. I love hearing about great food. I am totally sucked in to the Olympics right now. Between that and reading my sleep is cut to the bone. I also FINALLY am back to knitting, a year after moving. I have the yarn, the patterns, and it feels good to get back to this.

The Olympics was so good this year. So excited. Yay for knitting. I like crocheting. How was the PokémonGo event?

Creamistry! I got blood orange sorbet last time and OMG so good! Looks like you’ve had a good couple weeks. Yay for leaving the casino with more than you went in with. I should go play bingo. <3

Happy birthday, Jennifer! The Sawdust, Art, and Crafts Festival looks like it was fun. Ice cream made with liquid nitrogen right in front of you, cool. And tasty to the looks of it.

Belated Happy Birthday! You look like you had so much fun at that festival!

So proud of you finally opening your Etsy store, rock it babe!

I did, every part was fun. Still working on the Etsy store. Ugh, so hard.

Oh, I love arts and crafts events. That one sounds like fun and what a cool photo your mom got you. Happy Belated Birthday by the way!

Oh happy birthday girl! I heard about these ice creams but haven’t tried them, I don’t think wehave that in my city for now.

    • Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)

We had to drive pretty far for the ice cream but it was worth it.

  9. Lekeisha

Happy birthday! Do not tease with the ice cream! I’m glad you enjoyed your day. I’ve been busy with work, but I managed to get to the theater on Sunday to see Suicide Squad. It was good, I just think a few of the characters weren’t needed because they brought nothing to the plot. Will Smith, Margot Robbie, and Jared Leto were awesome!

Looks like you had a wonderful birthday. In a few weeks is the dreaded dirty 30 for me and I told the Mr that I just want to go to the San Diego Zoo for the day. We haven’t been there in like 10 years and now that we live right there, I’d love to go.

  11. Melissa (Books and Things)

Happy birthday! I love the look of that craft fair and I love that pic of the door! So pretty!

Oh and boo for making me hungry… 😉 LOL

YAY! for your Etsy shop! I’ve heard that FB is also a good place to sell so you might make sure to advertise there.

  12. Olivia Roach

Seems like you have been busy doing an awful lot lately. I’m glad you’re having all this fun and I hope you had a great birthday! I really like the looks of that fair and wow… you haven’t missed a single stacking the shelves post in all those weeks? That’s well over three years…

I know, crazy how consistent I have been. I just went over 1600 posts a few days ago. Crazy I have written that much.
