Sometimes I just want to talk about random crap. No themes, no rules, just…whatever. That’s where I Do What I Want posts come in. This is where I…well, do whatever the hell I want. Enjoy…and be very afraid.

This post is dedicated to Allyssa Barnes and her post 18 Types of Blog Posts To Get You Out of a Blogging Rut. She gave me the idea for this post.

You know what I feel like sharing today? Quotes. I have collected quotes since I was 12 years old. I keep a journal of them. I only write down the ones that truly inspire me, or make me laugh my ass off. So I thought I would share a few with you!

“It’s better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt.” – Mark Twain

I know for a fact you are all thinking of someone who needs to head this advice. Seriously! The things some people say. It boggles the mind.

“The more I know about people, the better I like my dogs.” -Mark Twain (He really is the shit!)

And all animals in general. Seriously, who of you out there don’t enjoy the company of animals more than humans? People are stupid, well, most of time. Sometimes they are okay for sex, or jokes.

“You’ve gotta dance like there’s nobody watching,
Love like you’ll never be hurt,
Sing like there’s nobody listening,
And live like it’s heaven on earth.” – William W. Purkey

Hell yes!

“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” – Dr. Seuss

Mind fucking blown!

“Remember to always be yourself. Unless you suck.” – Joss Whedon

Oh Joss, where would we be without you?

“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” – Oscar Wilde

Seriously, it feels so good to be unique, even if it’s not always appreciated.

“Where’s your will to be weird?” – Jim Morrison

I love being weird. Not everyone understands weird people, but that’s okay, we can’t all have such amazing imaginations.

“Sarcasm is the last refuge of the imaginatively bankrupt.” – Cassandra Clare, City of Bones

One of my favorite quotes in a book. Though, I am majorly sarcastic, soooo…..

“Here, Kitty, Kitty, Kitty…” – Ilona Andrews, Magic Bites

If you have read the Kate Daniels series, you know this is the most badass quote of all time. I am totally getting it as a tattoo one day.

LOL I love the Here, Kitty, Kitty, Kitty, Kitty… quote 🙂 And the Jim Morrison, too, I love weird people so much! If someone says to my face that I’m strange, I say ‘thank you’ 😉
Have a fantastic week ahead, Jennifer, happy reading.

  2. Braine

keep the randomness & thanks for the lovely quotes. I’ve seen some of these around but they never cite their sources.

  3. Deborah Jay

Love these quotes – thanks for sharing!
One of my favourites is this one from Mahatma Gandhi:
“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”

  4. Olivia

Oh yes you should always do what you like every now and again! I loved all these quotes. My favourite would have to be the William Purkley one or Dr. Seuss. Dr. Seuss has always been amazing in my books ^.^

wow really great quotes I liked “It’s better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt.” – Mark Twain ,, it is really really great post I loved it 😀 Thanks For Sharing

I have many quotes that I love but my favorite is “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.” by Bernard M. Baruch. I had a bout of depression in high school and a few years ago and I had this thing where I would read hundreds of inspirational quotes from this book that my mom had on her shelf. I still read them every now and then.

  7. Jaclyn Canada

I love the different takes on Joss Whedon’s quote to “Remember to always be yourself. Unless you can be _____”. They are filled with things like Batman, Wonder Woman, etc. Which is really ironic since he directs Marvel and not DC. I have most of these quotes saved as well. The sarcasm quote is one of my favorites, too, and I’m incredibly sarcastic as well. Thanks so much for sharing!

    • Jennifer Bielman

Hehehe, that’s awesome. I love being sarcastic but that quote is hilarious.
