Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. It’s time to sit around with people you don’t like, eat way to much, and live off turkey sandwiches for 3 days afterwards. I am just happy to be off work. I need a break. I just want to watch TV, ready books, get my list of things to do done and relax. I hope you all have a relaxing rest of the week.

Before I go, I thought we could share what we are thankful for. I am thankful for the progress the older dog we took in is making. I talked to you all about him a little while ago. Bosco has always been put in a cage/crate when everyone leaves the house because he chews up everything. We followed suit though it pained us to do so because we never had to lock up a dog before. Recently we decided to leave him free to roam the house for an hour while we were gone. He didn’t chew up anything! The next time we left him for 3 hours and again, success. I think he is less stressed in our house, with a quiet, relaxing environment compared to where he use to live. Plus, the cat keeps him company. So no more cage for Bosco!

P.S. I am going to eat so much PIE!

  1. Jessica @ a GREAT read

    Happy Thanksgiving to you too!!

That’s good to hear Bosco is doing better outside the crate–we call it a crate so it’s not as harsh! Lol. Our dogs are crate trained because they’ve been known to get into things that they shouldn’t. We give them plenty of free time out of it though. And if it gets too late, our older one will just go in his crate and lay down! Lol!!

I hate the “crate” i.e. cage! lol. It makes me sad to see a dog in one, though I know it’s common for some dogs to love their crates because they get use to them. Bosco never did.

Yay, Bosco! That’s wonderful news. I used to have to crate my dog when I first got him. He chewed everything. I went out for lunch once, came home and my brand new running sneakers were in pieces. The posts under our bed looked like well chewed ears of corn. Thankfully, whether with time, or like you said, the comfort of the house, he no longer needs to be locked up when we leave. <3 So glad to hear this wonderful news and I hope he continues to do well in your home.

Bosco was like that when he was young. But it was the abuse that kept him that way, in my mind anyway. Some dogs are crazy, some are just sad. Sometimes love is the answer.

I wish I could have pie for breakfast, but I gotta cut back. But I love my occasional pie! Chocolate fudge pie sounds like heaven.
