Unfortunately, so do the bad guys. My parents’ killer has sent his apprentice to infiltrate the school to find me. And everyone is a potential suspect, even irresistible new kid, Egon, and my old nemesis-turned-nice-guy, Mason. Fingers crossed I find the Knight before he finds me…
Age: 16
Classification: Psi Fighter, Black Belt First Level
Special Skills: My kung fu is butt-kicking, and I’m pretty decent with Psi Weapons. I especially like the Thought Saber, but I’m not crazy about the Memory Lash. Actually, I hate it.
Special Note: I can’t show you my real face. You know, secret identity and all that. Psi Fighters are usually masked.
My name is Rinnie Noelle. I’m a Psi Fighter. We protect the innocent, kind of like Batman. But we don’t do capes. Capes are for weirdos.
I’m sixteen, the youngest Psi Fighter to ever get a real mission… which I totally botched. Long story short, after I let a frightening stalker escape, I was reassigned to protect my high school from arch-nemesis Mason Draudimon, a bully who has picked on me since fifth grade. The thought bored me to death. I could easily dust the lockers with his face, and that would be fun, but it would also give away the secret of my true identity.
So there I was, wallowing in self-pity, when suddenly the assignment took on a whole new meaning — I found out that the school has become a hunting ground, and that I am the prey. The Walpurgis Knights, the nasties who murdered my parents when I was six, have dispatched their apprentice to find me. The good news is, he doesn’t know my true identity. The bad news is, I don’t know his, either. But Mason is the link to finding him AND the stalker who escaped.
Hmm, could become interesting — and potentially deadly.
D. R. Rosensteel is a research consultant who had no intention of writing anything but technical papers describing his theories of metaphysical psychometry. But when a hoodied teen showed him a device that turned her thoughts into weapons, and told him about a secret society of protectors who trained her in their underground Academy, he knew her story had to be written.
