Welcome to The Murder Complex Blog Tour. I am VERY interested for this book. I plan on reading it next and I can barely contain my nerves and excitement. This is so up my alley. I felt honored in getting the chance to interview the author behind this crazy book. I hope you guys enjoy getting to know Lindsay and don’t forget to enter the giveaway at the end.
The Murder Complex #1
Publisher: GreenWillow Books
Genre: Dystopia, Thriller, Young Adult
Find It: Goodreads | Amazon | Barnes & Noble
An action-packed, blood-soaked, futuristic debut thriller set in a world where the murder rate is higher than the birthrate. For fans of Moira Young’s Dust Lands series, La Femme Nikita, and the movie Hanna.
The plot starts to thicken when Meadow meets Zephyr James, who is—although he doesn’t know it—one of the MC’s programmed assassins. Is their meeting a coincidence? Destiny? Or part of a terrifying strategy? And will Zephyr keep Meadow from discovering the haunting truth about her family?
Lindsay: When I wrote TMC, I was in a pretty tough health situation. I wanted to write a story about strength and weakness, about family and fear. Writing TMC just sort of happened, and I’m so thankful that it did!
Lindsay: I think I surprised myself. I didn’t know I was capable of falling so in love with a story, that even after I had read it 30 times, editing over and over and over again, I could still sit down with that same book and think, “Man…I love that story.”
Lindsay: I actually didn’t do much research at all. I like to write what I know, what I’ve experienced in life, so that it really feels honest and true. For me, that meant writing the book in Florida, a place where I grew up! I could really put my heart and soul into that setting, and it was a blast, too!
Lindsay: I’m a lefty. I eat Paleo 5 days of the week, and the other 2, I give up and eat ALL THE FOOD. I played on the all-boy’s ice hockey team in high school!
Jennifer: Who are your favorite authors?
Lindsay: I LOVE THEM ALL. JK Rowling, Suzanne Collins, Marie Lu, Beth Revis, Lauren Oliver, my buddy Victoria Scott, Jonathan Maberry, Scott Westerfeld. Too many, man! Too many!

Lindsay Cummings is the 20-year-old author of THE MURDER COMPLEX, as well as its sequel, coming 2014 from Greenwillow Books/HarperCollins, and the MG trilogy THE BALANCE KEEPERS, coming Fall 2014 from Katherine Tegen Books/HarperCollins.

Since I have no weapons training whatsoever , I am going to choose a sword. Great interview! I am really looking forward to reading this book.
Jennifer Bielman
If I could I would train in all kinds of weapons. I am the violent sort. 🙂

This Paleo diet is really making me curious. WTF is that diet about?!
Jennifer Bielman
LOL, Yeah, not sure.

I think that it says a lot about the story that she still loves it even after reading it over and over again through the editing process. It’s so important to have a story that you are proud of. Thanks so much for sharing 😀 Jaclyn @ JC’s Book Haven.
Jennifer Bielman
I agree. I can’t stand editing my books though, lol.
Melliane
It must be so nice to be surprised by your own book! Thanks for the interview.
Jennifer Bielman
LOL, I thought that was cool too.

I recently read this and really enjoyed it. I was a bit hesitant, but I was pleasantly surprised. My weapon of choice would be something lame, like uncooked pasta. that stuff can hurt when used right!
Jennifer Bielman
LOL, uncooked pasta. Awesome choice. I am just stating this book now.

Great post, Jennifer! I’m very interested in this book, and I can always get down with a female author that played on the boys hockey team 😉
Jennifer Bielman
hehe, I know. I love that she played boys hockey!
