What happens when a major earthquake changes life as you know it and the boy you thought you hated ends up saving you? Three times!

Courtland Reese is the guy everyone hates and makes fun of because … well, he is weird. He communicates with animals. Strange or interesting, seventeen-year-old Adela Castielle can’t quite figure out, but when he saves her from being trampled by her own horse, she begins to understand him a little better and wants to learn more about him.

But, Max–her best friend/dream guy/someday-to-be-her-husband-only-he-doesn’t-know-it-yet–hates Courtland with a passion. Adela wants to know why, except neither boy is talking.

When Max leaves her stranded in his parents’ wine cave with his worst enemy, Courtland, after what the experts are calling a “megathrust” earthquake, Adela starts to question her loyalty to Max as steamy kisses in a dark damp cellar only fuel her emotions with more conflict.

But does she really have time to worry about that when fire, destruction and mayhem surround her?

Jennifer: Can you describe Allusive Aftershock in three words?

Susan: Destruction, betrayal, love

Jennifer: Did anything (or anyone) surprise you while writing Allusive Aftershock?

Susan: Max surprised me. I didn’t realize that I could make him so mean.

Jennifer: If you were going to come up with a theme song for your book, what song would it be?

Susan: Try by Pink

Jennifer: What is your favorite part of the process of writing a book?

Susan: Typing “The End” on the first draft. After that, I like the second round of edits the best.

Jennifer: Can you tell us three surprising facts about yourself?

Susan: I have an 11’ titanium rod in my leg from when I broke both my tibia and fibula playing soccer.

I used to be a girl scout troop leader.

I like making quilts.

Jennifer: What kind of books do you like to read? Have any favorites?

Susan: I read a variety of different genres. My favorite YA series is Jennifer Armentrout’s the Covenant series and my favorite adult series is J.D. Robb’s In-Death.

Jennifer: Have you always wanted to be an author?

Susan: Secretly, yes. But first, I had to be a mom, so I did that, now I can write.

Jennifer: So what’s next after this book? Are there any other projects you are working on or plan to?

Susan: I’m in the editing stages of the third book in my Whisper Cape Trilogy, A Secret Fate. It should be out this October, early November. I am also working on a New Adult Contemporary, The Fawn, which is due out in the spring of 2014.

Jennifer: I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to answer a few of my questions. Is there anything else you would like to mention before we part ways?

Susan: I’d like to send a shout out to everyone who has read and reviewed Allusive Aftershock. Thanks to all my fans and supporters for allowing me the opportunity to make writing my career and do what I love to do. Thank you for the fantastic interview and hosting me on your blog.

Author Bio
Susan Griscom daydreams often. And sometimes her daydreams interfere with her daydreams not to mention real life. Because, let’s face it, her character’s lives are so much more exciting. Sometimes it’s young adult or new adult or just plain old mainstream fiction and sometimes it’s paranormal romance, where her playing field delves into a different milieu than the usual vampires and werewolves. Some day she might write about fangs and fur, but for now she prefers sticking to strong heroes and heroines confronted with extraordinary forces of nature, powers and abilities beyond the norm, mixed with some steamy romance to get the blood boiling.

Susan lives in the Sierra Foothills in Northern California with her very romantic husband, her small yippy dog, Riley, and her humongous black cat, Saké. Her family consists of his and hers; four wonderful sons and one beautiful daughter, and seven grand angels.
Susan loves when a story takes hold and pulls her into the fantasy, that’s magic.

Great interview ladies! And P!nk!! She’s one for my favorite artists ever. I’ve loved her since I was a teenager so awesome theme song! 🙂 I’m also a big fan of the In-Death series but I haven’t read one in so long. I read I think 14 in a row and took a break – that was like 5 years ago. I really should get back into it!

QUILTS! I want to learn how to make those! I can’t knit but I’ve cross stitched so I think I can do quilting. That’s an awesome skill to have!
