You guys know I love Faith Hunter’s Jane Yellowrock series. Shadow Rites is going to be epic, I just know it. The Vampire Games has a mediocre cover, but the blurb gave me the chills.
What books did you get this week? Have you read any of the ones I got?
My Week
Still a stressful week but it’s getting better slowly. Just got back from dinner and a movie. Saw The 5th Wave. I wish I could have gotten to the book first but oh well. It was good but nothing great. I do like a good alien invasion though.

I never got into the 5th Wave as a book but I hoped it would make a decent film-it seemed like it would. I’ll see it when it comes out on dvd. Have a good weekend!
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
It was an okay movie. I expected more. Doesn’t really make me want to read the book.
Bee @ Quite the Novel Idea
I haven’t read the 5th Wave yet either but I haven’t heard a lot of good things about the movie. 🙁
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
Yeah, I would not recommend the movie either.
Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews
The Vampire Games sounds really good, Jennifer! And I hope Shadow Rites will exceed your expectations for epic-ness 😉
Have a fantastic weekend and happy reading.
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
I can feel the Shadow Rites being amazing.

I’m going to see T5thW tomorrow with my stepdaughter. I love the books, so I hope it’s worth watching. Enjoy your books!
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
Did you like The 5th Wave? I thought it was a little lackluster.

The Vampire Games sounds and looks so good.

I still need to read The 5th Wave as well. I remember when it was up for grabs on Netgalley. It seems like a lot of YA books are being turned into movies lately. I wonder if it will stick or die off. :\ I, personally, love seeing how they bring a book to life. Once you read the book you will have to share your thoughts on the two.
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
I love seeing all these book to movies, even when they are just okay. It’s still exciting and it gets people reading.
Nathan
I haven’t read The 5th Wave or seen that movie. Shadow Rite and The Vampire Games look good, though.
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
Are you a book-to-movie watcher?
Nathan
Often it is one or the other with me, but sometimes I watch the movie then read the book.
Christy
I read 5th Wave and really liked it, but don’t feel all that inclined to watch the movie yet. Boo for stress, hope next week is better.
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
It’s like I feel obligated to watch movies of the books I know about. Don’t know why.
Melliane
I need to read the second Hunter book! happy reading my friend!
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
Thanks. Happy reading to you.
Grace Fonseca
Interesting. I don’t really read either of these series, but the covers look amazing. I hope you enjoy them.

Thanks, I hope so too.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about the 5th Wave movie which is surprising since it’s adaption and the book fans normally go crazy with outrage (not that I blame them, it’s normally me too). I really need to get on-board with this bandwagon! I haven’t read the book or seen the movie yet… Oops!
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
LOL, I don’t know if I want to read the book because the movie was just okay.
Jaclyn Canada
I am wanting to see The Fifth Wave. I don’t remember hearing about the book before the movie came out saying it was based on a book. At this point, I’ll see the movie first and see if the book is worth reading from there. That Vampire Games cover reminds me of the Witch & Wizard cover by James Patterson. I DNF’d that one, so I definitely hope this one works out better for you!
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
I have to say, the movie did not make me want to read the book.
Melissa (My World...in words and pages)
Hope this week isn’t as stressful for you. 🙂 Take care!
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
Thanks. It was a long week.
Liza @ Quite the Novel Idea
I haven’t read any of Faith Hunter’s books ;( What genre is the series?
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
Urban fantasy. I would highly recommend the series.
Olivia Roach
It’s always great to get the sequel to a book you love! Hope you can enjoy Shadow Rites!
Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads)
Thanks!
